Position Summary

Directly supervises all front office personnel and ensures proper completion of all front office duties. Directs and coordinates the activities of the front desk, reservations, guest services, bellman, and telephone areas. Prepares monthly reports and may prepare a budget for the Front Office Department.

Essential Functions

· Interview, hire, train, cross-train, schedule, coach, counsel, and discipline associates and perform annual performance evaluations.

· Review, edit and notate employee timecards on a daily basis.

· Efficient daily operation of Guest Services, while adhering to budget guidelines.

· Create schedules for Front Desk & Bellman.

· Manages day-to-day operations, ensuring the quality standards and meeting the expectations of the guests on a daily basis.

· Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.

· Produce administrative reports as well as maintain adequate and accurate room inventory. 

Monitors availability and reservations regrets.

· Respond to guest questions, concerns, comments, and requests promptly, courteously and professionally.

· Ensure that regular on-going communication is happening with employees to create awareness of business objectives and communicate expectations, recognizes performance, and  produces desired results.

· Conduct regularly scheduled meetings of front office personnel. Ensure strict adherence to the uniform, grooming and appearance.

· Verify nightly audits to ensure all financial controls are being met.

· Maximize room revenue and occupancy by reviewing status daily. Analyze rate variance, monitor credit report and maintain close observation of daily house count.

· Maintain, monitor, and prepare group requirements and relay information to appropriate personnel.

· Check cashiers in and out and verify banks and deposits at the end of each shift. Enforce all cash-handling, check-cashing, and credit policies. Also, make sure that every cashier drop has a witness signature.

· Make sure all accounts are settled and all charges are posted.

· Maintain working relationships and communicate with all departments.

· Ensure implementation of all hotel policies and house rules.

· Understand the impact of the department’s operations on the overall property financial goals and objectives and manages to achieve or exceed goals.

· Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocates sound financial/business decision making; demonstrates honestly/integrity; leads by example.

· Other duties as assigned by management.


The Company may consider an equivalent combination of acceptable education and experience providing the knowledge, skills and abilities cited below.

Education and Experience

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

OnQ experience is required.

· Four years of customer contact and supervisory experience in the hospitality industry.

· Strong project and time management skills; ability to effectively backward plan, juggle multiple priorities with great attention to detail, and deliver consistent and timely results.

· High level of comfort with financial oversight and budgetary tracking.

This position requires WEEKENDS, HOLIDAYS, and a FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE!
