The DTS/PBX is responsible for answering and responding all internal and external calls. Additionally, DTS processes all guests’ requests and maintains an accurate log.


· Familiar with property, departments, hours of operation, and services of the hotel.

· Answer phones within 3 rings using proper greeting and etiquette.

· Utilizes computer to verify identity and/or room number of guest.

· Understand and carry out specific duties for: fire alarms, bomb threats, and medical emergencies.

· Knowledge of all hotels functions/events/amenities/room features and local areas of interest.

· Transmits messages via Guest Experience Platform (GXP) and two-way radio

· Receives, processes wake-up calls, room service orders and guest requests.

· Log all guest requests or issues into computer. Contact appropriate department and follow up with guest to ensure their request has been met to their satisfaction.

· Ensure maintenance problems are promptly reported through proper channels.

· Receive and deliver clear and professional messages in PMS and offer assistance with voice mail.

· Practice safe work habits and comply with sanitary, safety, security and emergency procedures.

· Check with manager/supervisor before leaving work area for any reason.

· Report, log, and follow-up on telephone equipment malfunctions. •

· Confirm, record, and deliver wake-up calls (using manual sheet and/ or switchboard).

· Respond to guest requests, concerns and problems to ensure guest satisfaction.

· Report any incidents of guest dissatisfaction or other matters of significance to manager so that corrective measures may be taken.

· Act as the center of communication, for all communication, in the event of an emergency. Review and understand all policies and procedures for safety, emergency preparedness, etc.

· Assist team in completing daily responsibilities.

· Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.

· Any other tasks/duties as requested by management.

Education and Experience:

· High school diploma or GED.

· Minimum 6 months of experience in customer service.

· Experience in a hotel environment (Marriott brand preferred).

· Knowledge of the South Florida market.

· Guest service, basic accounting, and familiarity with hospitality industry practices preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

· Excellent communication skills.

· Proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

· Experience with hotel operation systems.

· Skillful in project planning and able to prioritize tasks.

· Ability to adapt vision and proven flexibility.

· Attention to detail, good organizational skills, and efficient time management.

· Ability to follow an appropriate course of action based on policies and procedures.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while simultaneously handling changing priorities.

Working Conditions & Physical Effort:

Physical work is a primary part of the job. Work is normally performed in an interior hotel environment with equipment and machines. The work involves exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dirt, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. The exposure to hazards or physical risks requires following basic safety precautions and use of applicable protective equipment. Physical requirements include extended standing and walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling and lifting up to 30 pounds frequently; While performing job duties, the Ambassador is required to speak, listen and write. The job requires close vision with or without corrective lenses.

· Walk and stands during entire shift.

· Lift and carry boxes, up to 30 lbs

· Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pushing and lifting.

· Work indoors 90%; outdoors 10%.
